SqlValidation

Controls how SQL queries are validated before execution.

SqlValidation.ReadOnly — blocks DDL and DML statements, allowing only read-oriented queries. Use this when you want a lightweight guard against accidentally running destructive SQL, for example when queries are generated by an LLM or come from less-trusted sources. Validation is tokenization-based: string literals and comments are stripped before keyword matching, so valid SQL like CTEs or semicolons inside literals is not rejected.

SqlValidation.None — no validation. The query is passed to the database as-is. Invalid or destructive SQL will be rejected by the database driver with its own error. This is the default because readSqlQuery is a developer API and the database is the authoritative validator for SQL correctness and permissions.
